Cause Description:
Matrix is an independent indoor marching percussion ensemble based out of Akron, Ohio. Matrix was formed in 1999 as a competitive indoor drumline and competes in the Winter Guard International (WGI) and Ohio Indoor Performance Association (OIPA) circuits in Independent World Class. Matrix, past having a performance-based focus, is an organization that focuses on educating todays youth in how to be outstanding young men and women in society. We instill values in the membership of the organization that last a lifetime. Members of Matrix come from all across the country and range in age from 16 to 23. Matrix has consistently been a WGI Finalist since 1999. Matrix earned the bronze medal in WGI Open Class in 2000 and has been a WGI Independent World Class finalist since 2005.
